Downtown Novato transforms into a vibrant celebration of creativity and culture during this two-day festival held on Grant Avenue in mid-June. The Novato Festival of Art, Wine and Music brings together artists, musicians, and food vendors to create a gathering that appeals to both longtime art enthusiasts and casual community members looking for a weekend outing. The June timing captures the region at the start of summer, when outdoor festivals thrive and the weather cooperates for wandering through vendor booths and enjoying live performances under open skies. As a festival rather than a smaller craft fair or farmers market, this event casts a wide net across creative categories. You'll find visual artists displaying paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and handcrafted goods alongside wine vendors, local food purveyors, and musicians performing on stages throughout the venue. The mix of wine and music creates an atmosphere that's a step above a typical craft market, drawing attendees who are ready to spend time exploring, sampling, and enjoying entertainment. This blend makes it appealing to a diverse crowd: art collectors, wine lovers, families seeking live music, and people simply looking for a lively community event. The festival format allows for broader vendor diversity compared to specialized markets. Mixed-category vendors thrive here because attendees come with an exploratory mindset rather than hunting for one specific product type. Whether you sell handmade crafts, artwork, food items, or items that bridge multiple categories, the festival atmosphere encourages browsing and discovery. The two-day structure gives you weekend exposure and the chance to reach different crowds on Friday and Saturday, with music and wine creating natural gathering points that keep foot traffic flowing through the vendor areas throughout both days.
