Accessibility

Last updated: October 11, 2026

VendorsMap is for every maker, organizer, store owner and shopper, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification or other assistive technology. We want every part of the site and the apps to work for you.

Our goal

We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. We check new work against it as we build, and we review the most used parts of the site, like signing up, applying to an event and paying, first.

What we already do

  • Buttons, icons and form fields carry labels that screen readers announce.
  • Pop-ups keep keyboard focus inside them and close with the Escape key.
  • Animations respect your device's reduce motion setting.
  • The map never uses colour alone to say something: shapes and labels carry the meaning too.
  • Text fields are sized so phones do not zoom in when you tap them.

Known limitations

  • The interactive map is hard to use without a mouse or by screen reader. Every event on it is also in the list view and on its own event page, which work with a keyboard and screen reader.
  • Some small coloured text may not yet have enough contrast. We are fixing it page by page.
  • Booth maps drawn by organizers are images. Ask the organizer, or us, and we will help you with the details in text.

Tell us about a barrier

If anything on VendorsMap is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us. A real person reads every message, and we aim to reply within two business days and to fix or work around the problem as quickly as we can.

Email us at james@vendorsmap.com, or use the Feedback button at the bottom of any page. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable sharing it.

If you need something in a different format, or help completing a task like an application or a payment, we will help you do it another way.
