The North Carolina Mountain State Fair runs September 11-20, 2026 at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher, NC (just south of Asheville). This is the official mountain fair of North Carolina hosted by the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. Vendor categories include food and commercial vendors, heritage crafters, wholesale vendor suppliers, and Got to Be NC members. Application deadlines vary: outside food vendors April 28, inside food and heritage crafter June 26, outside/inside vendor spaces and Got to Be NC vendors July 24. Vendors are encouraged to apply early as the application period remains open until deadline or until all spaces are filled. Strong food safety regulations: ice machines must be locked, back flow preventers required, food prep must occur in permitted areas, vendors responsible for trash disposal, propane tanks must be transported securely.

The Heritage Crafters Area at the NC Mountain State Fair celebrates Appalachian mountain crafts with artisans dedicated to preserving traditional techniques. Features live demonstrations, handmade goods, and folk art.
