Craft FairApplication required (juried)

20 spots open

Held in Elkins City Park, this one-time juried craft fair on July 25, 2026, serves as the public celebration concluding the Augusta Heritage summer sessions. The event draws regional artisans who have been selected through a juried process, meaning vendors are vetted for quality craftsmanship and authenticity. This selective approach shapes the character of the fair, attracting customers who come specifically seeking well-made, thoughtfully produced goods rather than mass-produced items. Because of its connection to the Augusta Heritage program, the Augusta Festival & Craft Fair 2026 emphasizes traditional Appalachian crafts and contemporary work rooted in regional traditions. You'll find vendors selling handmade pottery, woodwork, jewelry, textiles, fiber arts, and other handcrafted goods that reflect the skill and cultural heritage of West Virginia artisans. The fair goes beyond typical vendor booths by incorporating live demonstrations of traditional crafts, allowing customers to watch makers at work and understand the time and skill behind each piece. This educational element tends to draw engaged shoppers who value knowing the story of what they're purchasing. The day includes live music programming with jam sessions and an open fiddle and banjo contest, which creates a festive, participatory atmosphere. This musical component attracts not just craft shoppers but also music enthusiasts and families looking for a full day of entertainment. The summer timing in late July means warm weather and families with school vacation schedules, drawing a mix of serious collectors, casual browsers, and people seeking summer activities in the Elkins area. Free admission removes barriers to browsing and wandering through the fair, which typically encourages higher foot traffic. The rain-or-shine commitment means the event proceeds regardless of weather, so you can plan with confidence. If you make traditional crafts, regional work, or quality handmade goods, this juried fair in Elkins offers access to customers specifically seeking authentic, locally-made items during a well-attended summer celebration.

Held each summer at Elkins City Park in West Virginia, this annual craft fair celebrates traditional artisanship and regional heritage in a community-focused setting. The Augusta Festival and Craft Fair draws over 100 regional artisans who showcase handmade goods ranging from fine woodworking and pottery to textiles, jewelry, and other traditionally crafted items. Unlike typical craft fairs, this event is deeply rooted in Appalachian cultural traditions, making it a natural fit for vendors who create authentic, heritage-inspired work or who want to connect with an audience that values artisan craftsmanship and local makers. The July event runs from 10 AM to 5 PM and functions as both a marketplace and a celebration of living craft traditions. Attendees at this fair come specifically for handmade quality and cultural connection, not mass-produced goods. You'll find customers interested in supporting regional artists, people visiting the area for its cultural attractions, and families looking to learn about traditional skills. The atmosphere blends commerce with education and entertainment, creating multiple touchpoints for vendors to engage shoppers beyond just selling. Throughout the day, free traditional craft workshops give attendees hands-on experience with skills like basket weaving, blacksmithing, or other heritage crafts, keeping foot traffic active and drawing crowds curious about how artisans create their work. The West Virginia Open Fiddle and Banjo Contest and community jamming sessions provide live music and cultural authenticity that enhances the fair's appeal and keeps visitors lingering longer. These activities attract both serious music enthusiasts and casual listeners, broadening the demographic base beyond typical craft fair shoppers. As evening approaches, the fair transitions into a block party atmosphere with an old-time and Cajun music street dance, extending the day and creating a community celebration that extends beyond vendor sales. This mix of artisan marketplace, cultural programming, and evening entertainment makes the Augusta Festival and Craft Fair a distinctive summer event for vendors seeking engaged, culturally-minded customers in the heart of Appalachia.
