Mud Magic Ceramics

I have been a lifelong devotee of learning as many art forms as possible, but in January of 2025 I took my first wheel throwing course and knew I had found “the one.” Over the last couple of years pottery has become my primary source of peace and tranquility. Even when things don’t go perfectly, or my carefully laid plans fail, I still seek solace at the wheel at the end of a tough day. I love the challenge of learning new techniques and I am constantly awed by the certainty that I will practice this art for the rest of my life and still not know everything there is to learn. Taking a lump of mud and letting it come alive as a functional pot or a piece of art is one of my life’s great joys. That fateful 6 week course has taken me in a direction I never could have imagined and showed me what I never knew I was missing. I like to take that sense of joy and purpose and pour it I to every piece I make.
