Taking place over two days in late January along the scenic banks of the Indian River Lagoon, Images: A Festival of the Arts brings together a diverse community of artists and art enthusiasts in one of Florida's most picturesque riverside settings. This juried fine art festival at Riverside Park in New Smyrna Beach attracts painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelry makers, and mixed media artists from across the region, each selected through a curatorial process to maintain quality and variety throughout the event. The festival draws the kind of crowd that values handcrafted work and original art, from serious collectors looking to acquire pieces for their homes to casual visitors who enjoy browsing, learning about different artistic techniques, and discovering new creators. January is an ideal time to visit the New Smyrna Beach area, with mild weather that makes for comfortable outdoor browsing and lingering conversations with vendors about their work and process. The riverside location adds to the experience, offering shade from mature trees and views of the Indian River Lagoon that create a pleasant backdrop for exploring art booths. Beyond the visual art, Images features live music performances throughout both days, which helps establish the festive atmosphere and gives visitors reasons to stay longer and explore different areas of the park. Food vendors provide sustenance, so attendees can easily spend several hours moving between artist booths, enjoying entertainment, and grabbing refreshments without having to leave the grounds. For vendors, this means a built-in audience primed to spend time at the event and engage with artists in a leisure mindset rather than rushing through. If you work in fine art, crafts, or related creative fields, Images: A Festival of the Arts offers a well-established platform in a strong regional market. The juried nature of the event suggests a professionally-curated environment that tends to attract serious buyers and media attention, making it a worthwhile application for artists looking to reach an engaged audience in the New Smyrna Beach community and surrounding areas.

New Smyrna Beach's riverside comes alive each February when the NSB Art Fiesta takes over Riverside Drive in downtown for its 64th year. This two-day festival draws crowds serious about art and craft, with over 200 artists setting up along the scenic waterfront corridor. You'll find painting, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, glasswork, photography, prints, and mixed media work at varying price points and skill levels. Some vendors focus on fine art; others sell functional pieces like ceramics, woodwork, or accessories. The February timing means mild weather and a dedicated winter crowd of both locals and visitors escaping harsher climates. Admission is free, so foot traffic tends to be steady throughout both days. New Smyrna Beach's laid-back beach town vibe and established art community make this a draw for serious collectors as well as casual browsers. The river setting creates natural traffic patterns and good sightlines for artists. This is the kind of event where you see repeat vendors year to year, plus newcomers testing the market. If you sell art or craft work, expect a mixed crowd ranging from browsers picking up an impulse gift to buyers actively collecting pieces for their homes or galleries.
