The Volga German Oktoberfest is an annual two-day festival in Hays, Kansas celebrating Volga German heritage and coinciding with Fort Hays State University's homecoming weekend. The festival features over 45 vendor booths offering traditional German food, crafts, beer, and unique items for sale. Artisan vendors, food vendors, and local organizations participate as exhibitors and fundraisers. The event includes live music, cultural entertainment, contests, and family-friendly activities alongside adult competitions. The festival takes place at Hays Municipal Park in downtown Hays with free admission and is organized by the Volga German Centennial Association, a nonprofit established in 1974.
