The Pecan Street Festival is a juried bi-annual fine art and arts and crafts festival, one of the largest and longest-running in the nation. It features over 300 local and national artists offering handcrafted original work in painting, sculpture, wood, glass, jewelry, pottery, mosaics, candles, and original clothing. Five stages showcase live music and performing arts. Hundreds of food vendors provide regional and ethnic cuisine. The festival also includes children's carnival activities, petting zoo, and art workshops. It welcomes diverse attendees who come for art, music, food, and family entertainment. The event is free to attend with free parking and operates twice yearly. Proceedings support local nonprofit organizations and Austin community charitable efforts.
