Beasty's Lair

Beasty’s Lair is a place where art, personal identity, and empowerment come together to create a unique customer experience through fashion, tooth gems and more. It is the culmination of founder and CEO Tomoe “Beasty” Carr’s own personal journey and ongoing development of her artistry. In 2020, Tomoe made the difficult decision to withdraw from College in order to dedicate her time and energy solely to her dream of pursuing dance full time. This was the pivotal moment that shifted her art from a hobby to a life long career. Since then, by focusing on this gift, she has been able to impact the lives of many other artists, sharing her story, knowledge, and love for the art form. After winning multiple prominent battles Tomoe gained the name “Beasty,” traveled the world teaching dance in places such as Japan, Bali, Sydney, and New Zealand, and performed on stages throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. With all this gained knowledge through experience she wanted to give back to the community. Beasty created “Untamed,” a continuously sold out program that educated new dancers about Hip Hop culture’s history and principles. As Beasty’s success in dance grew, so did her interests in other fields of art and movement. Her commitment to honoring culture and learning from the source led her to travel to Bali to complete her 200-hr yoga certification training. Her love for personal expression and originality led her to design her first line of (sold out) shirts completely from scratch. Her desire to inspire people to feel confident and shine led her to obtain her tooth gem certification. As a queer Black Japanese-American, who is grounded in her culture, Beasty always knew the importance of expressing individuality and identity. All of this has led to the creation of Beasty’s Lair. She welcomes you to a place of self discovery, confidence and expansion.
