Our story

My son and I are Métis, family-run businesses based in Edmonton, Alberta, creating Indigenous-made goods that combine tradition, creativity, innovation, and community connection. Cree-ative Crocheting offers handmade crochet pieces inspired by Métis and First Nations culture, including hats, scarves, ponchos, and Métis-inspired sashes. We also create Oilers, Elks, and Pride-themed items, along with refashioned and upcycled clothing that gives materials new life. My adult-only chest features more mature crochet creations for an adult audience. I am also learning traditional Métis sash weaving on a loom, with plans to introduce handwoven pieces as my skills develop. TJ’s Plastics, created by my son Thomas, brings imagination to life through 3D printing. His creations include Alberta-inspired animals, articulated dragons, Pokémon, fidgets, and other fandom pieces. He also makes cosplay gear, including Harry Potter wands, lightsabers, helmets, armour, and Halo- and Star Wars-inspired props, while expanding into RC vehicles. Together, we represent two generations of Métis makers, building our family businesses while sharing our creativity, craftsmanship, and unique products with the community.
