We started this business just a few months ago with the intention of sharing our story — and, more importantly, reminding others that their story isn’t over yet either. Danielle and I are both in recovery and survivors of domestic violence. We’ve fought the battles, gone through some of the worst times imaginable, rebuilt our lives, watched things fall apart, and had to start over again. But today, we are successfully building the life we always wanted — and the life we always deserved — together. That is the heart behind This That & Wax. Each one of our candles is made to leave an impact. We want you to know that whatever you may be going through right now, your story is not over. And that message continues long after the candle is gone. Inside each candle is a meaningful coin, chosen to represent different experiences, reminders, struggles, and moments in life. Whatever coin you choose tonight, you’ll be able to keep it long after the candle is gone — as a reminder of whatever trial, tribulation, hope, or journey may have been on your mind when you chose it. Maybe the coin you choose represents something you’ve been through. Maybe it represents something you’re going through right now. Or maybe it’s simply a reminder that you’ve made it this far. Whatever it means to you, we hope you keep it close and remember one thing: Your story isn’t over yet, either.
