Our story
We are Star Road Woman and Bear Stormcaller, Indigenous American artisans, cultural carriers, traditional craftspeople. Our work holds ancestral knowledge and living creativity in the same hand.
I, Star Road Woman, am enrolled with the Northern Cheyenne Nation. Bear Stormcaller is of the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas, carrying Aztec lineage. Together we bring deep beauty to every market, handmade from natural and traditional materials.
We make featherwork earrings, unique feathered ear cuffs, and hair clips from respectfully sourced plumes: emu, peacock, pheasant, grouse, turkey, and more. Dentalium shell earrings, long ceremonial and short contemporary. Porcupine quill earrings worked with natural stones and crystals in gold and silver tones. Moccasins stitched by hand from responsibly sourced leather. With those, bags and pouches, headbands and hatbands, leatherwear, bone and arrowhead necklaces, claw necklaces, feather fans for smudging, rattles, mystical and ceremonial items, and new work that keeps coming as the practice grows.
Every piece is handmade, carrying respect for the relatives who help make it. Materials are gathered and sourced with offering, in accountability to Earth, Sky, and Great Mystery. The designs hold original vision rooted in cultural reclamation and revival, and in an Indigenous freedom of expression that is ours alone.
We put our ancestors' wisdom into practice, carrying the ancient ways into modern times. We believe these old skills will help us and the coming generations hold on to cultural expression, and reconnect and remember the Original Peoples of the Americas, their beauty and harmony with all life on Earth, so we can return to a time with those values instilled in our societies.
