The Moth Muse

The Moth Muse was created in the summer of 2024 by Peyton Allen. I am located in Southeastern Connecticut. Since I was little I have always been fascinated by insects, exploring the woods and flipping rocks to find salamanders. In the beginning, I was making insect art for myself, friends and family. It started out as just a fun hobby for me to express myself. I am completely self-taught. I decided to vend at a small event in my hometown, and it all built from there. I raise moths but do also create pieces from bugs I find already deceased. Almost all of the materials I use for my pieces (moss, ferns, mushrooms, flowers, etc.) are foraged myself. Each piece is created with intention, honoring the life of the deceased. I take pride in having respect in the entire pinning process.
