I’m a local Oak Park author interested in participating as a vendor at the Whizin Winter Walk on December 12th. I’d love to learn more about the event and whether you are accepting applications from local authors selling their independently published children’s books. My book, SAILING THE ABCs: An Alphabet Adventure Story for Children, is a beautifully illustrated, lyrical picture book that brings the alphabet to life through whimsical letter characters, playful rhymes, and a charming nautical adventure. Its unique approach introduces letters in memorable groups of “alpha-besties,” helping children build letter recognition before moving on to letter sounds. With rich watercolor illustrations, hidden visual surprises, and an imaginative origami sailboat made from pages of our local Acorn newspaper, the book offers a distinctive educational gift for young children and a delightful read-aloud experience for parents and grandparents. At my author events and booth presentations, I also offer ABC-themed crafts that invite children to engage creatively with their alpha-besties while reinforcing letter recognition through hands-on fun. As a local author, I would be delighted to contribute to a festive holiday shopping experience in our community and introduce families to a unique, locally created book. I would appreciate any information about vendor availability, application requirements, booth fees, and deadlines.
