The Macabre Librarian

The Macabre Librarian is a nontraditional, pop-up bookshop featuring blind dates with a book. Using over a decade of bookselling experience, we aim to connect people more deeply to their reading lives, promote open-mindedness & intellectual freedom, encourage book-related self care, and heighten consciousness about the world of books. In addition to doing pop-ups, we partner with businesses across Illinois & Iowa to bring curated books, blind dates with a book, and literary crafts to their stores. We also cohost & organize bookish events with a twist, such as Indie Bookstores After Dark at The Last Picture House and The Boozy Book Fair.
