I create children’s books that feature characters with disabilities in the lead roles, as problem solvers and heroes, not a plot point or issue to be resolved. Through representation, children with accommodations will see themselves in positive ways. For children without challenges, they can be introduced to new perspectives, learn empathy and realize there is more in common than not.
