Over the Garden Gate Press is a small, independent publishing company and bookish boutique based in Northwest Arkansas. Founded by a retired English teacher with 28 years of classroom experience, our business grew from a lifelong love of storytelling and a desire to inspire readers of all ages. We specialize in original, beautifully illustrated children's books, including our beloved Buddy series, inspired by our own Bernese Mountain Dog and the animals of Homewoods. Our stories celebrate family, friendship, kindness, faith, and the everyday adventures that make childhood magical. Since launching our business in 2026, we've expanded beyond publishing to offer thoughtfully curated Blind Date with a Book gifts, themed reading collections, children's Mystery Playdates with a Book, and beautifully wrapped literary gifts. Each package is carefully selected and assembled by hand, with special attention to presentation and the joy of discovering a wonderful story. What makes our business special is the personal touch behind everything we create. From writing and publishing our own books to selecting and wrapping each surprise read, we believe books should be more than something you purchase—they should be an experience worth remembering.
