I make a variety of machine sewn accessories and everyday essentials such as tote bags, wallets, cosmetic bags, wristlet keychains , book and device cases, earbud cases, lip balm cases, and kitchen accessories like bowl cozies, quilted dish cloths, jar grippers, cast iron handle covers, and aprons. My business is just starting. I am a retired public school teacher with an inspiration to preserve the skills of older generations before they become lost art forms. My 79-year-old mother taught me to sew just over a year ago after I asked her to teach me. Perennial Hem was the business name I selected to symbolize this family legacy .Perennials are plants that survive the harsh winter conditions because of the strength of their deep roots. Each season, a new version of the plant sprouts again. A hem prevents unraveling. I am proud of the pieces I handcraft and I am ready to share them with others.
