Joanna Koutsos Artist

Joanna Koutsos | Flower Artistry From the Garden to the Canvas I believe art should have roots. My work is created with REAL FLOWERS, hand-grown in my personal Southampton garden. Each piece begins long before the canvas with planting, nurturing, harvesting, and carefully preserving flowers that I have cultivated myself. Using an intricate process of pressing, shaping, cutting, and layering individual petals, I transform nature into contemporary works of art. My practice combines two distinctive techniques: floral arrangements and geometric mosaics, often bringing both together within a single composition. Rather than relying on traditional paint, I use the natural pigments, textures, and delicate translucency of flower petals to create depth, movement, and dimension. Every petal becomes part of a larger artistic expression. Inspired by my Greek heritage and the changing seasons of the Hamptons, my work explores the relationship between nature, geometry, and preservation. Each piece is entirely original, celebrating the beauty of flowers beyond their fleeting bloom. I grow the flowers. I create the canvas. I transform the petals into art. Flowers seen differently. Beauty preserved beyond the bloom. Joanna Koutsos JoannaKoutsos.com
