purlygirl knits is a small handmade business creating one-of-a-kind hand-knit characters, including my Emotional Support Chickens and Posh Piggies. Each piece begins with a unique combination of yarns, colors, and textures and is brought to life with repurposed materials, vintage jewelry, buttons, upholstery fabrics, and other found treasures. With a background in art and design and more than 25 years of knitting experience, I approach each creation as a little work of art, carefully choosing every detail to give it its own distinctive look and character. My creations are meant to make people smile. They’re whimsical, a little unexpected, and filled with plenty of charm and sass. The Emotional Support Chickens offer a playful reminder that sometimes you just need someone to listen without judgment, while the Posh Piggies bring their own fashionable flair and barnyard attitude. Each character comes with a story card that adds to the fun and helps bring its personality to life. What makes purlygirl knits special is that no two creations are ever alike. I love giving forgotten and unexpected materials a new life—an old earring may become a chicken’s glamorous accessory, a vintage button might become the perfect finishing touch, and a beautiful scrap of upholstery fabric can inspire an entirely new creation.
