The Jaded Candle is known for hand poured, small batches soy candles. Using premium fragrances, creative designs and witty, memorable names. Our brand brings personality, offering unique candles perfect for home decor, gifting and everyday enjoyment.
My name is Gretchen, and I am the owner and candle maker behind The Jaded Candle, a Cranston, Rhode Island based business. With a background in art and design, I initially envisioned a career in fashion and visual design before discovering my passion for home décor. I started The Jaded Candle as a part-time business during the COVID-19 pandemic and took the leap to pursue it full time in 2025. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to create something different from traditional candles with familiar scents like French Vanilla or Sweater Weather. Instead, I wanted my candles to stand out through unique fragrances, playful names, and a little personality. Some of my most popular candles include “A Diet Coke Could Fix Me,” “If Lost Check the Bookstore,” and “Overstimulated and Over Caffeinated,” with distinctive scents like tomato basil, olive and lemon and Aperol Spritz. My goal has always been to create candles that are fun, unexpected, and high quality while remaining affordable and accessible. Every candle is hand poured in small batches using soy wax in my Cranston studio.
