Our story
Hi! I'm a current nursing student and aspiring entrepreneur with a passion for coffee, baking, and sharing my South Indian heritage through food and drinks. I'm developing **YOBA**, a specialty coffee and bakery concept that blends traditional South Indian flavors with modern American café culture.
Our menu features South Indian-inspired beverages such as Kalkandu Paal (rock sugar milk), South Indian chicory filter coffee, turmeric milk, and specialty date-syrup lattes. Alongside our drinks, we hope to offer a curated selection of Indian-American fusion pastries and sweets, including date-sweetened banana bread, pistachio-inspired baked goods, and classic bakery favorites with a unique cultural twist.
The inspiration behind YOBA comes from my cat! The desire to share the comforting flavors I grew up with while creating something fresh, approachable, and exciting for a wider community. I want to celebrate the traditional recipes and ingredients cherished across generations while introducing them in a contemporary coffee stand setting.
My goal is to start with a small, thoughtfully curated coffee stand that brings people together through familiar comforts, new flavors, and a shared appreciation for good coffee and freshly baked treats. Eventually, I hope to grow YOBA into a welcoming neighborhood café that celebrates both my South Indian roots and my Indian-American identity.
