Our story
The Pickle Bank is an award-winning, community-driven social enterprise dedicated to reducing food waste, promoting sustainability, and transforming surplus produce into opportunity. We create small-batch, handcrafted preserves, pickles, relishes, jams, jellies, and other specialty food products, using creative preservation techniques to give rescued surplus produce and seasonal ingredients new life. Proceeds help support our mission of improving food accessibility and fighting hunger within our communities.
In collaboration with my mentor Chef Stephen Field, a retired culinary professor and creative artisan, we’re expanding our offerings to include handcrafted paper, greeting cards, incense, and unique natural products made from reclaimed and repurposed materials. Together, we bring culinary expertise, craftsmanship, and environmental stewardship into one creative marketplace.
Beyond our products, we’re passionate about sharing knowledge through food preservation demonstrations, cooking classes, and hands-on agricultural workshops. Our goal is to inspire people to rethink waste, rediscover traditional skills, embrace resourcefulness, and recognize the potential in materials and ingredients too often overlooked.
At The Pickle Bank, we believe that fighting food waste is about more than saving food. It’s about cultivating creativity, strengthening communities, and turning what others discard into something meaningful.
