Alta Ceramics

Alta Ceramics is a functional pottery studio based in Melrose, Massachusetts. I make wheel-thrown and hand-finished pieces designed for everyday use: mugs, bowls, planters, vases, and serving pieces that are meant to be lived with, not set on a shelf. Every piece is made by hand in small batches, glazed and fired in my studio, and tested for the way people actually use ceramics, from the weight of a mug in your hand to how a bowl sits on the table. My work leans into clean form and layered glazes, with an emphasis on pieces that feel both grounded and a little unexpected. I sell directly through my Shopify shop and at juried and community markets across the Boston area. What I care most about is putting durable, beautiful, useful objects into people's daily routines.
