Design Your Market Layout on Satellite Imagery of Your Actual Venue

James Westcott·August 27, 2026·5 min read

Most market layouts live on a whiteboard photo, a hand-drawn PDF, or in one person's head. Then market morning comes, forty vendors arrive inside the same half hour, and every one of them asks the same question: where is my booth?

The booth map designer in VendorsMap has always existed to answer that question once, in advance, for everyone. Now it can answer it on a picture of your actual venue: organizers on the Expert plan can lay out their market directly on satellite imagery of the real site.

Your venue, from above, to scale

Open the booth designer, and instead of a blank canvas you are looking down at your actual park, parking lot, fairground, or street. Zoom in until the lampposts are visible. Then build your market on top of it:

  • Drag and drop booths one at a time, or place a whole row at once along a real path or curb.
  • Real dimensions. Booths are drawn to scale in real feet and pinned to the ground, so a 10x10 canopy on the map is a 10x10 canopy on the pavement. If it fits on the screen, it fits on the site.
  • Objects and landmarks. Add stages, restrooms, generators, entrances, and food truck zones, or upload your own images, so the map reads like the day will actually look.
  • Numbered spots. Every booth gets a number vendors and staff can navigate by.

Vendors pick their own spot

Expert organizers can also turn on booth self-selection: an accepted vendor opens your map and claims their own numbered spot, the way you would pick a seat on a flight. Vendors get a say in where they stand, and you stop playing telephone over spot assignments. You can still place anyone by hand whenever you want the final word.

Shoppers get the map too

The same layout becomes a clean public map on your event page and in your digital market guide, with a QR code you can print for the entrance. A shopper looking for the maker they follow can walk straight to booth 23 instead of doing laps.

What every plan gets

Every organizer, on every plan, gets the drag-and-drop booth designer with numbered spots, rows, objects, and image uploads. The Pro plan upgrades it to a live map of your venue drawn to scale on street imagery. Expert adds the satellite imagery and vendor booth self-selection, along with SMS messaging and unlimited team seats, at $100/mo or $1,000/yr. Current pricing for all plans is on the pricing page.

Set it up in an afternoon

From your organizer dashboard, open Booth maps, choose your event, and search your venue's address. Lay out one row, check it against what you know about the site, and keep going. Most organizers have their whole market mapped inside an hour, and the map keeps paying off every event after that: returning vendors keep their spots, new vendors slot into what is open, and market morning starts with setup instead of questions.

If you are still deciding what to charge for those booths, how to set booth fees walks through the math. And if your event is not on VendorsMap yet, listing it is free at vendorsmap.com/for-organizers.
