Mossy Willows Studio

Leo Richmond at Mossy Willows Studio produces comics and zines, as well as paintings and illustrations that toe the line between sweet and unsettling, ultimately resolving to an odd, familiar comfort. They carry the drawn out sighs forced to wait until after-hours, and still are more like love letters to mundane living, albeit written in blood, sweat, and grit. These grungy slice of life poetry comics are told through the thick lens of his queer and trans experiences. He takes a more painterly approach to creating these works, keeping as much of the process on paper for as long as he can, from the brainstorming and writing, to the sketches and inks, and finally to the lettering and watercolor washes, only digitized for mild clean-up and the reproduction process. In addition, he also offers a wide variety of wierd stickers as well as on-the-spot custom drawings a la painterly state fair caricatures, a unique themed color pallet offered at every event. Take a seat and enjoy the process or peruse the rest of the market while you wait!
