Our story
Jessica Nulph is a Pittsburgh-based multi-disciplinary artist and founder of Wild Compass Rose Gallery. With experience spanning over 25 years, she specializes in impressionistic realism. Transitioning from a corporate career to full-time artist in 2024, she launched her small business on International Women’s Day to pursue her dream.
Nulph’s diverse portfolio includes watercolors, oils and acrylics, photography and intricate fiber art appliqué, with work featured in local, national, and international exhibitions. A familiar presence in the Pittsburgh art scene, she earned back-to-back People’s Choice Awards at the 2021 and 2022 NHAC Fiber and Fire shows.
With two decades of experience in commissions, her versatility spans formal boardroom portraiture, fine art clothing, animal portraiture and landscapes. In addition to her studio practice, Nulph shares her expertise through watercolor instruction. Most recently, her artistic journey took her to Southern France, where she was an Artist in Residence at Hôtel Sainte Valière, and The Fall Pittsburgh Art Battle where she won 1st place.
