Our story
My work combines painting, sculpture, woodworking, and natural materials to explore the wildlife and landscapes of Appalachia to the macabre. I build dimensional pieces from layered and handcarved wood, reclaimed barnwood, black walnut, kudzu vine, handmade paper, found natural objects, bone, copper, iron, resin, and other materials that carry their own history. The work moves between contemporary folk art, natural history, and assemblage, often blending humor and whismy with darker themes of morality, decay, and transformation, and our connection to the natural world.
