Our story
Danitra is the founder of Queen Sugar Baking Company, where she blends Southern Black culinary traditions with a deep committment to community and a love of art. Not only is she known for her peach cobbler cinnamon rolls, banana pudding cookies, and s’more’s brownies but she also is a gifted watercolor artist that celebrate resilience, vulnerability, and radiance through her beautiful portraits. Inspired by lived experiences within her community, her art centers those often erased from visual culture. Through both baking and painting, Danitra creates work that nourishes, uplifts, and makes space to be fully seen.
