Earth Notes by Asmina

Earth Notes by Asmina is an AAPI woman-owned art studio based in Boston, MA. I make hand-painted botanical art, folk art prints and hand-painted shell art in small batches. Every piece starts as an original, painted in gouache or acrylic with gold accents, drawing on the motifs I grew up with in Aurangabad, India including– kolam and mandala line work, jewel-toned botanicals, Indian architecture, and the wide range of Indian arts and crafts I was surrounded by. I received my bachelor's in graphic design from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, where I had the opportunity to explore indigenous craft techniques, materials and motifs. Almost a decade after moving to the US, Earth Notes is my effort to stay rooted in the country I came from. Every piece is made by hand, with patience– each one made to keep, and each one slightly different from the last.
