Join us Labor Day weekend for the Oglebay Woodcarvers Guild's 47th Annual Carving and Sculpture Show. Talented carvers from West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania join the local carvers to show their work: birds, caricatures of people and animals, dragons, and white-bearded Santas with their elves. Most carvings are for sale, and there are live demonstrations across both days. Every visitor gets a free raffle ticket on the way in, drawn hourly, for a locally carved piece. A separate raffle offers five days in a deluxe Oglebay Park cabin, two $100 Oglebay gift cards and three $50 gift cards, drawn after the show on Sunday. You do not need to be present for that one. Raffle money and donations go to eleven local community soup kitchens. The Pine Room at Oglebay's Crispin Center is air conditioned and wheelchair accessible. Admission and parking are free. Coming from east or west, exit I-70 at the Oglebay exit, take National Road to WV Route 88 and follow the signs into Oglebay Park, then the Woodcarvers signs to the Crispin Center Pine Room.
