The Nelson Psychic & Wellness Fair at Mike’s Pond came to life in 2022, a true manifestation of a shared dream to build and bring a supportive, compassionate and loving community together and to honor the memory of Michael Hackney, Laura’s late son, who was also incredibly passionate about bringing people together to learn and grow alongside one another. Mike’s Pond is a beautiful place of peace and healing nestled in the rolling hills just outside of Cazenovia. The expansive pond, serene trails, and gardens are the setting for the Nelson Psychic & Wellness Fair; since the inception of this event, it has blossomed into a beautiful and powerfully healing and transformative annual gathering, with guests and vendors alike experiencing a unique peace and tranquility during their time at Mike’s Pond. Lifelong connections have been made, new collaborations forged, healing and personal growth have taken place, and an amazing community has come together in harmony. We have found that handcrafted items and foods (especially foods that are GF/Vegan/MF!) made by local artisans, holistic and metaphysical practitioners, readers and vendors, and those who sell items that are sustainable and eco-friendly for the body, home, pets and kids, are most successful. Proceeds from this annual event benefit the Michael Hackney Memorial Fund for Mike’s Pond, which is often open to the community, allowing friends and neighbors to enjoy this slice of heaven on earth; whether their visit be to swim or fish in the refreshing pond, enjoy a moonlit bonfire together after a potluck dinner, or to find solace and healing while remembering their own loved ones who have crossed over, the funds raised during the Nelson Psychic & Wellness Fair allow the Hackney family to keep the pond clean and stocked, the serene trails with their lush flora and fauna maintained, and more.
